An “Eventfall” September Packed Full of Flavor at Epicurean Atlanta

WHAT: Celebrate the flavors – and flair – of fall in the heart of Midtown Atlanta with Epicurean Atlanta’s “eventfall” culinary-forward experiences happening this September:

  • On Sept. 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., learn to craft a masterpiece at Epicurean Theatre’s “Wine & Charcuterie Workshop.” Led by the experts at The Gathering Board, this popular class is back after three sold-out sessions and shares how to cut and display three cheeses, create a salami rose, and choose a balanced variety of accoutrements. Guests will enjoy fresh focaccia and roasted garlic olive oil dip and two glasses of wine while crafting their custom board. Tickets are $60 per person and can be purchased online.*
  • On Sept. 20 from 12 to 3 p.m., join Oyster Farmer John Harley and Tequila Expert Lou Bank for the ultimate oyster and spirit experience, “Shuck & Shot at Aerial Kitchen & Bar,” for just $10. Happening poolside and accompanied by live music, this limited-time experience features the surprisingly complementary pairing of a freshly shucked oyster followed by a shot of premium tequila straight from the shell, enhancing the oysters’ natural brininess with sweet and savory notes. No reservations necessary. Available at Aerial Kitchen & Bar, while supplies last.
  • On Sept. 20 from 5 to 6:30 p.m., spice up the season with tequila’s smoking hot cousin during Epicurean Theatre’s “Mezcal Tasting.” Presenter Lou Bank – known for bringing Pokémon to the masses, Star Wars to the cereal aisle, and Morimoto to the beer world, as well as for founding the not-for-profit SACRED to support rural Mexican communities where heritage agave spirits are made – will guide guests through a tasting that spotlights a different region of Mexico with each pour. The evening includes a mezcal welcome cocktail, a tasting of five heritage agave spirits, and Mexican light bites. Tickets are $50 per person and available online.*
  • On Sept. 21 from 1:30 to 3 p.m., fall in love with cacao beans all over again at Epicurean Theatre’s “Chocolate 101.” During this educational tasting, guests will discover all kinds of cacao varietals and how the places of origin influence the flavors and aromas before they become beloved chocolate bars. The event is led by legendary foodie Lou Bank and includes a welcome cacao cocktail, a tasting with five chocolates, and a cacao seed sampling. Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased online.*

*A portion of proceeds from all September theatre events will benefit Giving Kitchen’s Dining with Gratitude campaign to help raise crucial funds for food service workers in crisis.
